What indeed is in a name you may ask, and what is a STACCATO pistol?
Well, some of you 1911/2011-obsessed-fanbois and gals out there might know that STACCATO is what STI are known as these days, and STI are probably one of the greatest slightly unsung heroes of the 1911-world out there!
So the spiel tells us;
“For over 25 years the gun community knew us as STI, the company that evolved John Browning™s classic 1911 design into the 2011® gun platform. With its sophisticated ergonomics, increased capacity, and less recoil, our 2011® pistols were embraced by competition shooters for their speed and accuracy. The STI brand was (and arguably still is) the most decorated brand in the competitive shooting world, having won thousands of matches and championships.”
And of course STI pistols were no slouches when it came to Law Enforcement use either, and the real STACCATO P COMP SOC 2011 (the replica we have in for test) is “approved for duty” by more than 1,300+ law enforcement agencies and carried by elite units like the Texas Rangers and the US Marshals Special Operations Group, as well as thousands of officers across the USA!
We were lucky enough to pick up the latest ARMY GBB version (by way of EMG) of this super pistol from iWHOLESALES when we visited last week and it’s already heading towards some serious rangetime! The features look GREAT to us;

- Lightening cuts provide a lighter and easier to rack slide w/ better cycling
- CNC Aluminum integrated compensator with aluminum outer barrel
- Skeletonized trigger w/ texturized slip resistant face
- Hand-stippled grip provides ultimate ergonomics
- Ambidextrous Safety, steel magazine release

We’ll be giving this super pistol as much as a beasting as we can in the coming weeks, so be sure to watch out for our evaluation down the line; with FIVE different models of the licenced STACCATO pistols in the line there’s a style to suit all tastes, our advice is to check them out for yourself!
