Some of you that have been around airsoft for a while will know the name “WELL”, and some of you may have even owned one of their AEGs in the past… in fact Bill has told us he once had one of their MP5s back in the early 2000’s that served him “well” after a bit of tinkering!
But having seen the WELLPRO range at IWA we can tell you that only the bare minimum of tinkering (if any!) is necessary with their latest models, and one that has grabbed our attention is the WE06 which is still a budget-priced AEG, but one that closely resembles the PPK-20 9x19mm submachine gun which combines the reliability and ergonomics of the modern AK-12 with a subcompact size.
The Kalasnikov Group website tells us that “the 9 mm PPK-20 submachine gun, based on the Vityaz-SN, differs from its predecessor by its compact size, lower weight, optional quick-detachable sound and flash suppressor, folding telescopic polymer buttstock, ergonomic pistol grip and ambidextrous fire selector switch”… this all sounds great, and will be sure to please fellow OPFORists out there that fancy something a little different!
In terms of the WELLPRO WE06, the AEG is made from high density polymer with an alloy outer barrel and steel trim parts, keeping the weight to a remarkably low 1900g. Inside, you will find a 6.02mm tightbore inner barrel, unique HOP-up unit, in-line protective MOSFET, a short-stroked piston and a 20K RPM high-speed motor as standard…. Tidy!
Priced within the budget-reach of many new airsofters, the WE06 will also be sure to attract the attention of those that like a bit of REDFOR in their lives… we’ll certainly be adding one to our OPFOR armoury and will report back as always when we’ve had some rangetime…
