Sometimes we get our hands on something that is unusual, and the RARE ARMS SHELL-EJECTING AR most certainly fits into that category!

For those not familiar with the Taiwan-based company RARE ARMS have actually been around since 2011, and the founders were players who specialised in mechanical system design. With a great passion for airsoft platforms, and using expertise in R&D, the founders flung themselves into their work and development.

After numerous tests, they successfully developed the first semi-automatic shell-ejecting rifle, a GBBR (or to them a GBBER), along with designing many innovative airsoft gun systems which already have multi-national patents. Their philosophy is to provide “Reliable, Exquisite and Interesting products”, and this they have most certainly achieved!

Now of course the RARE ARMS rifle is not new in itself, but the latest CO2-driven model IS, and it’s a bit of a corker to be honest! You might wonder exactly where though such as beast fits into airsoft-gaming, and you’d be right to do so as this is more an example of “what is possible” rather than “what is practical”… that said, it is something quite unique, and for this reason we love it!

However, we’ve been talking to the guys at DARK ROC who specialise in firearms training for the TV and movie industries using airsoft platforms, and it would appear that the RARE ARMS AR may just have a place in that particular world…

We’ll be testing the latest RARE ARMS SHELL-EJECTING AR as soon as it arrives with us, and when we publish our review we’ll also be carrying an interview with DARK ROC alongside it to talk about airsoft “on screen”… yup, AA are going to the movies… kind of…
