It’s the start of another long and busy week at AAHQ as we prepare to head off to the UK NATIONAL AIRSOFT FESTIVAL on Thursday, but of course in the meantime we’ve already started work on ISSUE 166 for next month, and one of the areas we’ll be coming back to is our RED CELL SHOTGUN CATEGORY!

And oh boy, what a change we’ve seen in airsoft shotgun models since we started RED CELL, as the last couple of years have REALLY seen this area accelerating, and as much as we do like a classic “spring 870”, there’s now so much to choose from that’s gas-powered and even AEG!

You can imagine then that we were VERY interested to get an advisory from the guys over at www.taiwangun.com telling us about the arrival of a new shotgun series, both gas and C02 driven from DOUBLE EAGLE!

The latest series is based on that all-too-familiar, and rather awesome “870 design”, and although there appear to be a number of takes on that, it’s the M8872 V2 that really caught our eye as this seems to replicate the classic “police” look. The advisory from www.taiwangun.com also told us that;

“This is version 2 – V2: Thanks to consultations with Taiwangun and Golden Eagle, we have significantly improved the design, eliminating leakage issues.

Construction: The appearance and mechanical functionality of the replica have been maximally replicated, ensuring exceptional realism during use.

Power: The replica is powered by Green Gas, with the charging port located in the stock, making it easy to prepare for use.

Accuracy: With the built-in RIS rail, you can mount various optical sights, such as collimators, which enhance accuracy during shooting.

Hop-Up System: The fixed Hop-Up system and three inner barrels ensure a range of up to 30 meters and a muzzle velocity of approximately 330/360 FPS, ideal for CQB games.

Firing Modes: The replica allows the selection between firing modes of 3 or 6 BBs simultaneously, thanks to the fire mode selector located inside the chamber.

Compatibility: The ability to use standard shells in the Marui standard, such as CYMA shells.”

This all sounds cool to us, and we’re very much looking forward to getting our hands on one of these, although if you want to check out how the 15 SHOTGUN MODELS in the long-term-test program are doing then be sure to check in for the NEW MONTHLY ISSUE on 15 SEPTEMBER!
