After an extremely busy weekend checking out (virtually at least!) all the wonderful new things at the 2020 MOA Taiwan Show it’s back to business proper at AA as we’re putting the final touches to Issue 121 that will go live on 15th December!
That doesn’t mean that we’re not already planning content for Issue 122, and it’s already looking like that’s going to be a real corker to start 2021, and we’ll be getting on the range with the test AEGs and GBBs soon to start the process rolling again, and we’re especially pleased to report that amongst the review AEGs for January is the very latest L85A3 from Ares Airsoft which we’ve just received in from our friends at iWholesales here in the UK!
Firs impressions are that this is a stunning replica of the current-issue British Army rifle, and the fit and finish of the externals is absolutely drool-worthy. We’ve yet to get inside to have a look properly, but what we can tell you is that the new AEG weighs in at a hefty 5500g, and that’s without an optic or any accessories.
Internally we believe there’s the ARES EFCS Gearbox, which ARES have applied to many of their new products (for example, M4 series, SR-25 series and more), the new generation ‘Blue MOSFET’ which is more resistant to Ampage / Voltage fluctuations and spikes, and allows 11V LiPo and LiFe type batteries as standard, and an “in line” High Torque motor. We’ll be opening this bad boy up to check everything out for the review of course…
The new EBB AEG is going to be available in two versions; we’ve received the “standard package” to test which comprises the rifle plus polymer mid-cap, but there will be a “Deluxe Version” which will include the L85A3 AEG, two magazines, bipod foregrip, optic, RDS, RDS mount and gun case!
We’re sure that this is going to please many “UK Infantry” players out there, and we’re most certainly looking forward to getting it on the range to put it through its paces in readiness for the full report in the New Year to coincide with this new AEG hitting the stores!
