A good while ago we were “gifted” a LAMBDA DEFENCE GHM9 (thanks D!) and it quickly became apparent that there were “issues”… however, as always we delved deeper we discovered that a number of the first batch, including the one we had, had been “greyed-in”; that is they were pulled into stock by some stores early and outside the approved distribution channel from who knows where without any of the quality-control checks that should have taken place.
We’ve been working on our “grey” GEN I models for a while now, and with some pointers from the guys at AIRSOFT WORLD who work directly with LAMBDA DEFENCE plus Dan’s tech knowledge we’ve seen some pretty spectacular results from even the original GBB, and there’s no doubt though that the GEN I B&T GHM-9 was replicated excellently; put together in aluminium, steel and with nylon parts externally it is absolutely rock solid!
The adaptability of this licensed replica is exactly the same as the real deal too, so you can interchange pistol grips, hand-guards, outer barrels, flash-hiders, suppressors, stocks and a myriad of gucci, so basically it’s as versatile as an AR/M4 style platform in the way of accessories!
And now AIRSOFT WORLD have been in touch to let us know that the latest GHM9 GEN II is inbound (this time with full support from them!) and this model will use MP9-style magazines as opposed to the smaller G-Series magazines of the GEN I, so there’s a new lower receiver and gas chamber.
They also told us that;
“The GEN II will be hitting the AIRSOFT WORLD store later this month! Improvements from the GEN I include the angle of the magazine (MP9 or Glk), with improved performance and gas efficiency in the GEN II due to the new nozzle and improved MP9 mag, which also has yet to freeze up in use, even down to 5C ambient temp!”
We’ve had a soft spot for the LAMBDA DEFENCE GHM9 since it arrived with us, and we’ll be detailing exactly what we did with the troublesome “greys” to get them rocking properly soon! We’ve also been promised a sample of the new GEN II to evaluate, so there’ll be a focus on both models as soon as we can get the testing done.
This is undoubtedly a cracking little platform, and well-priced for a GBB primary too! Add to this that AIRSOFT WORLD will offer full support for the GHM9, and will have a full range of accessories available for it, and this is shaping up to be a superb in-game tool!
