We’ve been having some cracking results from the DELTA ARMORY MK18 AEG that we’ve had in constant test for just over a year now, and this awesome little AEG just keeps on cranking!
But of course time moves on, and as much as we highlighted the DELTA ARMORY FREYA project in ISSUE 160 following our time with them at IWA (there’ll be more on FREYA in due course!), they’ve been busy with their existing range to kick their ETU program into gear.
We thought we’d better have a look at one of the latest models to see just how far things have progressed, and after speaking to Dom at DELTA ARMORY UK he was able to ship us down the AR15 RIS ALPHA ETU to check out!
The features are immediately impressive;
- CNC 16:1 gears
- CNC Piston head
- CNC Nozzle
- CNC Stainless steel cylinder
- CNC Stainless steel spring guide
- High Torque motor with strong neodymium magnets
- Full metal teeth piston
- Precison 6.03mm barrel
But that’s not all as the AEG features of course the ETU (yup, the giveaway is in the name, we know!), and this adds Pre-Cocking, Binary Trigger, and Burst Mode to the mix!
The ALPHA series models as we know come with a full metal make-up so they’re solid as a solid thing, and other nice touches are an ergonomic pistol grip, CNC Type A trigger, great battery space, and in this case a classic “M4” rail system and flip-up rear sights. Overall it’s a modernised take on the tried and tested “M4 Carbine” design, and we can’t wait to get this on the range to see how all those extra functions perform.
