Weekend spotted again, and it looks like it’s finally going to be a corker here at AAHQ… definitely time to get the that summer kit deployed.. and indeed get BBQ out!
And again it’s been a very busy week for the AA Crew as we head towards ISSUE 162 going live next week, and we’ve got a proper bunch of airsoft goodness lined up for you! Of course before then there’s rangetime to work up, games to be played, and workshop projects to complete!
In our end of the week “crew-room-chat” Jimmy told us “Sunday is Mid-May-Mayhem at Cool Under Fire locally so shall be out there slinging some heavy-weights with the Wolverine-powered VSR10 and once again with the ICS Tomahawk. Fingers crossed this time I have ironed out all the little kinks in the ICS, it’s been a labour of love with this thing; at times it has been a headache and it has almost beaten me to a point of just giving up on it but I have prevailed!”
Ben is also planning to be out and about with RIF in hand as he added “I’m looking forward to getting out and play this Sunday; I was thinking of taking my ICS L86 LSW out as I’ve not used her for some time and would be nice to get some footage and photos with it…” and Miguel said “We got invited by one of the oldest teams in Portugal for a relaxed game, with a few handpicked teams. They have a huge field, with around 900 hectares, where we will do some small games during the morning, a bit after lunch…”
Stewbacca is taking a breath and catching up on some outstanding biz as he told everyone “for once I’m actually likely taking a day off on Sunday, although there may be hiking or perhaps a little catch-up on missed IPSC to be had. I’m working up new gun reviews as such, with the VFC M16A1 already thoroughly tested and ready for writeup, and the FNC in hand with a good few weeks before I have to submit that. New optics setups are also on their way ready for our upcoming team MilSim, so I may do a little more gun tuning in preparation for all that.”
Bill is also taking a bit of a breather as he said “with the new issue pretty much ready to roll I have a few bits of company admin to get sorted, and then some rangework to do as I want to revisit the Double Eagle N4 GBBR (pictured this week) one last time before I put that review to be; new AEGs and GBBs keep on arriving with the crew to test and evaluate so there’s always something that needs shooting though! The industry is racing along right now, and as we head into the busiest time of the year for airsoft events and games there’s a lot of work to be done… lucky really that I love what I, and we, do!”
Dan as usual will be busy at the workbench, but also shared some wise words with us; “On this side of the pond, it’s Mothers Day this upcoming Sunday, so if you wish to continue playing airsoft in the future remembering the flowers certainly improves your prospects!
But as for Saturday, I’m mainly planning on squaring away a trio of Classic Army’s from the local rental fleet that are having electrical issues. I’m 99% sure it’s the usual issue with the factory MOSFET and the brittle contacts breaking off; I’ve just been gutting them out as they come in for servicing and doing a full rewire to make them more reliable… long term, if I could get enough of the parts in, I’d also disable the ambidextrous selector switches and convert them to single-side only. Whoever designed the selector switch assembly for these was clearly working from the ninth circle of hell and wanted us to suffer with them!”
Meanwhile, Boycie is back to his “covert” tricks as he said “Well, other than a hopefully more restful weekend after recent adventures in shootiness I am working on my article for the <<REDACTED>>…”
Yup, THAT word… IT’S BACK!
All in all the tempo never lessens with the AA Crew, there’s always something to be done! We hope that the weather will be fair wherever you may be in this big old world of airsoft that we share, and that you’ve got airsoft plans of your own; if you’re heading out to a game this weekend, as always Play hard, Play safe, and above all, Play with Honour!
