As we head towards Christmas (yes, it’s okay to mention it now!) we’re starting to reflect on what a fabulous year it has been for airsoft, and for AIRSOFT ACTION!

2024 has seen some really first-rate releases in respects of both AEGs and GBBs and from what we saw at MOA (Stewbacca’s full report will be in our new issue next week, and it’s a BIGGY!) 2025 is shaping up to bring us more of the same.

With both SHOT and IWA very firmly on our horizon we’re keen to see if the promise of all the projects that we know that the technology manufacturers have been working on will come to fruition, and what that means for how we play our beloved game!

But for now, it’s still “airsoft biz as usual” for the AA CREW, and although games may be starting to wind down just a little, there are still all those “Santa v Jack Frost” scenarios to be played out in the coming weeks, as well as team gatherings and dinners to celebrate another year of games, events, and general shooty-shenanignans!

As usual;, Bill (pictured this week with one of his favourite AKs!) kicked off our team chat to end this week, and he told us that “it was the night before… no, what, wait… it was the weekend before a new issue so at AAHQ it’s very much all hands to the pump as we draw together the final articles and reports for ISSUE 169 on 15 DECEMBER, finalising the layup and design before we start uploading things to the publishing platforms during next week… it’s always a bit of fraught time, but thus far it’s looking good… no, make that GREAT, as we’ve got some real goodies to finish off the year to share with you!”

Stewbacca said “I’m off this weekend, helping out with media and organisation work for more CivDef efforts in [redacted], and next week I’ll be out too, hopefully catching the second day of PewLogic’s SpeedQB finale to cover it before they pass on the torch having built the community in Taiwan from the outset.”

Miguel as always is out with the GHOST OPS team, and told us “this Sunday we will take our new guys to our secondary field; the goal is to have a small and simple practice, and check how the field itself is.”

Ben is out again, and said “I should be going to play at a site I’ve never played before, and it’ll be my favourite style of play, CQB, in a closed  and abandoned school run by Red 1. I’ll be filming the action so I’ll share some of the madness once I’ve got the time to edit the footage! I’m soon to be on my much needed, booked long holiday off work so happy days… hopefully can get some more night games on the go!”

Rich chipped in to tell us that “I’ve got nothing directly airsoft-game related for me unfortunately, which given the forecast is probably a good thing, so it’s onwards with setting up my new workshop and moving on my classic restoration project” and Li’l Stu added “I’m re-building a poorly AK that I’ve got;  it wasn’t great to start with, so hoping I can get it a bit better.”

Boycie is setting the tone for what we’ll all be up to in the coming weeks as we have a little time off, and said “I’m sorting through the kit, getting maintenance done, to decide on a set up to use next year, as I’m hoping to get out and play some more unique games in 2025!”

And as we said earlier, there’s still a bit of time to get a pre-Christmas game in, and if you’re involved with any of the seasonal-game hijinks we hope that you’ll have a brilliant time! For another week though, we’ll wish you all the very best with your own airsoft adventures, and wherever you may be playing… Play hard, Play safe, and above all, Play with Honour!
