It really seems like the “battle of the GBB SMGs” area is REALLY hotting up at the moment, with some absolute classics already released, and more on the way… and that’s even before we get into another round of “Show Season” with MOA in Taiwan now very much on our radar!

Joining the various “B&T-inspired” models is the latest from AA AIRSOFT in Taiwan, and it’s a rather splendid take on the SIG MPX, although correctly showing no-trades as it’s not a licenced replica. Regulars here may recall that Bill looked at the AA/APFG MCX RATTLER at the start of this year in ISSUE 158, and he said of that;

“At a nudge over the UK£600 mark for the rifle, suppressor, and single mag combo the AA/APFG MCX RATTLER is not a budget option when it comes to a GBBR, but oh my, it is outstanding! Would I have one myself? Yes, actually I would as I love the weight, size, shooting performance and downright utility of it!”

And yes, he did indeed end up with one!

But what of the MPX model? The official “spiel” tells us;

“The AA/APFG MPX Gas Blowback Rifle is a masterpiece of durability and agility. Built from robust Nylon and Metal, this rifle offers effortless maneuverability with a striking black finish that adds a tactical edge to any loadout. Compatible with the APFG MPX series, it features a 30-round magazine, compact 350mm length, and adjustable hop-up system for pinpoint accuracy. With selectable firing modes and a consistent 310 fps muzzle velocity, this rifle is engineered for dominance.”

This all sounds mighty fine, and given our experience so far with AA AIRSOFT what’s quoted could well be true! However, as always we’ll get into testing one just as soon as we can before we give our final verdict… along with their latest MCX SPEAR LT11.5 which looks downright droolworthy!
