VegaForceComapny (VFC) seem 100% intent on emptying the wallets of the AA Crew, especially those of Bill and Stewbacca who have a love for things both gas-driven and FN-inspired! The two of them have been massively impressed by the original LAR (FN FAL) GBBR and Stewbacca has already shown to some effect in-game what an awe-inspiring platform the original is, but for many players the lure of something shorter and more up-to-date has been strong!
But it would appear that those prayers have been answered in the shape of the VFC LAR OSW MK1, a GBBR that offers a whole host of cool features!
VFC tell us on their dedicated product page that;
“As time went on, the LAR, once called the “Right Arm of the Free World,” began to show its downsides—mainly being too heavy and lacking modern modular features. To address these issues, manufacturers released a modernized version in the 1990s.
This updated model kept the classic LAR design while introducing several improvements to meet modern combat needs. First, the LAR OSW used lightweight aerospace-grade aluminum and improved manufacturing techniques to reduce its overall weight. It also featured a redesigned Picatinny rail system, making it easier to mount optics, tactical lights, and other accessories. Additionally, shorter barrel configurations like the carbine and compact models were introduced to better suit CQB scenarios
The goal of the LAR OSW was to combine the legendary durability of the original with modern modularity, making it suitable for military & law enforcement, and civilian markets. It not only preserved the timeless value of the LAR design but also solidified its place in the modern firearms market.
VFC’s LAR OSW MK1 GBB takes these modern features a step further. The original Picatinny rail system at the front has been replaced with a more up-to-date M-LOK handguard. The upper receiver now sports a CNC-machined Picatinny rail, paired with a para version folding stock. VFC has managed to keep the iconic look of the classic design while giving players more options for modern accessories, breathing new life into this legendary weapon.”
And oh boy, oh boy does VFC’s take on this look cool or what???
Thankfully Stewbacca has been out of the range and in-game with the VFC OSW MK1 GBBR already, and if his initial comments are anything to go by then his review in AIRSOFT ACTION soon is going to be quite an epic!
The OSW MK1 features precise dimensions, detailed finishes, and meticulous attention to design. Whether you’re a player looking for performance or a collector who values fine fireram replicas, VFC has you covered! We can’t wait to see how the VFC LAR family continues to grow in the future!
As we always say… watch this space!
