We said that 2025 looked like it may well be another great year for GBBRs, and we’ve just heard from our mates at iWholesales that they’ve just had a whole bunch of different models land that have been put together under the licences held by EMG, and many featuring the CYMA Gas System (CGS) that we’ve tested extensively and hold in high regard!

Among the models though is an interesting one, namely the DANIEL DEFENSE EMG DDM4 PDW, and it’s stunning to see a gas variant of this platform given that we’ve just completed testing on the new ICS AEG version (more to come on that in ISSUE 171)!

The CYMA system as we know is based on the much-loved TM MWS, and as we’ve already tested a number of platforms using the CGS we know that it’s going to deliver some pretty darn punchy performance!

In addition to the “OS”, CYMA have added a whole heap of  steel components into this, and other, models; these include the bolt carrier, trigger assembly, hammer, bolt catch, magazine release, muzzle device, buffer tube nut, rear plate, bolt stop, ejection port cover with latch, and trigger group retaining pin.

Compatible with a wide range of standard TM MWS-spec parts, this PDW will give you a short and sweet starting point for upgrades and modifications if that’s your thing, but the fact is that anything with the CGS is going to be good to go pretty much straight from the box!

Other features include;

  • Full Daniel Defense Trades
  • Full metal construction
  • 03mm Tight bore barrel
  • 14mm CCW threaded barrel
  • Daniel Defence Linear Compensator
  • Daniel Defence 6-inch MFR XL M-LOK hand guard
  • M-LOK MFR-style Short Rail
  • Picatinny Top Rail
  • 5-Position Compact Buffer Tube
  • Compact LWRC-style adjustable stock
  • Low profile Mil-spec Charging Handle
  • QD Sling Plate and QD Sling Points

Having had a LOT of fun with the ICS AEG model so far, this GBBR looks like it will be a right handful of fun, and the good news is that they should be landing at your favourite airsoft store (here in the UK at least) any time now!
