Before ISSUE 170 takes over here tomorrow, we have one more bit of news to share with you; SPECNA ARMS certainly had a busy end to 2024 with a release tempo that was frankly amazing, and they start 2025 with a bang too as they’ve just unveiled a whole series of DMR-STYLE AEGs that look the absolute business!
Collaboration appear to be “the thing” right now, a trend we’ve noted during the course of the past couple of years, and these new DMRs are the result of SPECNA ARMS putting their heads together with DOUBLE BELL, another brand we’ve come to like and respect.
SPECNA ARMS say;
“The new year has just begun, and Specna Arms is already bringing more exciting releases! This time, in collaboration with the well-known brand Double Bell, we’ve introduced AEG SR25 type designated marksman rifle replicas. This is something completely new in Specna’s catalog!”
Looking in more depth at the SA-E35 Edge™ Kestrel™ ETU model that we’ve pictured to accompany this post, the rifle is made of high-quality polymer and metal. The stock and pistol grip are made of polymer, while other parts are made of aluminium alloy.
The interior of the replica consists of the Kestrel ETU system and a number of reinforced internal parts enclosed in the V2 Long gearbox, providing a solid base for power tuning. Eshooter’s Kestrel™ V2 Basic ETU module is an advanced ETU system characterised by ease of use, durability and functionality. The Kestrel™ V2 Basic is programmable with trigger pulls, works with both brush and brushless motors in High Speed and High Torque configurations and increases the reliability of the replica and protects internal parts in the event of overload due to motor damage or battery drain.
Kestrel™ Basic chip features:
- Binary trigger, the replica will fire when the trigger is pressed and the next shot will be fired when the trigger is released.
- Pre-cocking programmable in 5 stages with piston position learning function.
- (Function requires a few single shots after connecting the battery for calibration)
- Active Break. the replica performs a full cycle with each shot, so that no unnecessary overload is created in the GB due to performing part of the cycle.
- Locked Rotor Protection, a function that protects the inside of the replica in the event of motor damage
- Battery Drain Protection, protects against battery drain. The motor vibrates, the blue LED lights up five times to indicate battery discharge
- Low/ High Voltage Protection. The module detects the number of battery cells and adjusts operation to different numbers of cells and voltages from 6V to 17V.
The other features of the rifle include a modular front-end for mounting accessories, folding front and rear sight, upper-receiver RIS rail allowing mounting of any optics, functional bolt-release, ambi controls, and a sliding stock.
Arriving with two magazines, and with an estimated power level on .20g of 1.79 Joule/440fps these look to be quite the package, especially as we have no doubt that prices will be “keen”, so if you’re looking to try your hand at some more precise, longer-range shooting then these new rifles could be the very thing!
