It’s the end of the first working week of the New Year here at AAHQ, and what a cool week it’s been!
We’ve been speaking to our industry partners during the last few days, and 2025 is shaping up nicely to be a fabulous airsoft year already; we’re hearing of new products and events both existing and new around the world, and it all seems very exciting indeed!
Many thanks already to all the manufacturers and distributors that have already pledged their ongoing support for the coming twelve months too; without them there would be no AIRSOFT ACTION, and whilst we don’t ever aim to make a profit on what we do and reinvest any funds we have in keeping the content-tempo high, of course things do need paying for, and in this day and age it’s sometimes a bit of a challenge keeping things rolling…
But such is the consistent standard of what AIRSOFT ACTION produces, and with that the fact that we truly have readers all over the world, our partners trust us “to get work done”, not once, but over and over again… and also of course we do actually… you know… check our facts!
And that does mean, yet again of course, that we’re on track to start uploading ISSUE 170 next week in readiness for it going live as usual on the 15th!
But that’s still a few days away (no pressure, right!) and it’s time to find out what the AA LEGION have been up to, and what they have planned for their first airsoft weekend of 2025 ahead!
Miguel was first off the blocks this week in our team chat, and he told us that “well, last Sunday was supposed to be our first game of the year, and we were going to play in an active Air Force base… But the wind and rain forced the organization to cancel the game, it was just too much. This Sunday, I’m planning on continuing the instruction with the newer players, with basic drill, fire team rush and basic radio use.”
Stewbacca was close behind and added “Saturday night after work is team TaiJi’s “weiya” (literally translates as tail teeth – the end of year/Chinese new year party) so while there is a plan to play for some the next day, historically the merriment has usually meant it is a bad day to be running around afterwards. Myself and some others are contemplating a more chilled outdoor long-guns tuning shoot-up in Xindian where we have 85m of open field to tune HOP ups and zero optics on paper, so I will likely do that and get some results for guns prior to putting the new 4UAD Magnus Pro HOP in one of them.”
Boycie said “my plans involve packing my bags ready for SHOT Show next weekend as I’ll be making the long haul to Vegas along with Steve and Lil Stu. It’s gonna be a busy one again, so keep an eye out for the daily reports and then the big report after we get back!”
Ben said “no gaming planned unfortunately due to conditions where I am; I’ll probably do a bit of target shooting on the range depending on weather, or I might go out with the NVG and just get more comfortable with them”, whilst Bill shared “I had planned to get out with some of the latest gassers this weekend, but as they’re still some snow lurking and it looks like temperatures may struggle to get above zero that may not be the best plan… or perhaps it is, as it’ll be interesting to see what functions! I’m also meeting up with Trent with his SPECNA ARMS hat on the check out their latest J-SERIES AK… that’s of course an AEG so there should be no issues. Jase also got me a bunch of new Taclite/LAM pressure switches so I’ll be playing mixy/matchy with those bad bois…”
So, with some of the team heading out to play or to the range, and others gearing up to set off in search of new airsoft stories we are very much in “airsoft biz as normal” mode!
Whatever you may be up to this weekend, take care if you’re playing in the extreme cold (and thanks to Josh at Krios Photography for this week; wintry feature image from the recent VORSK VMP-2 shoot… brrrr!)! We wish you all the very best for the coming year of airsoft adventure, and if you’re out playing then as always… Play hard, Play safe, and above all, Play with Honour!
