Some regulars here may remember that only a few weeks ago we talked about the unveiling of the “MOE” from our friends over at LCT in Taiwan, and it would appear that they’re not wasting a moment I getting this latest “Baby AK” into the stores!
They emailed us this morning to let us know that;
“We are pleased to share with you the LCT new item “AK MOE” which will be released on 20th, August, 2024.
MOE means very cute in Japanese, but it’s not only a cute look, as AK MOE will come with a 1913 rear trunnion and allow players to install their favourite stock to extend the different style!”
Not only that, but LCT have confirmed that the AK MOE will benefit from:
- 1913 Style Stock Compatibility – Available to be installed with 1913 specification stocks for more variation on appearance
- Seamless Transition Between LCK and 9mm Magazines – the AK MOE will come with a “9mm” magazine well, and additional standard LCK trigger guard straight out of box; this unique configuration allows for effortless interchangeability between LCK and 9mm magazines, providing unparalleled versatility in various tactical scenarios
- Part Compatibility – As Stewbacca’s ongoing series of articles illustrates, LCT offer a HUGE array of accessory parts, so the AK MOE will be compatible with 24mm CW flash hiders, silencers, tracers or other muzzle devices (handguard removal required)!
- Optics Ready – Although a micro-RDS would seem to be the very things for the AK MOE and optional scope rail (ZB_18) can be attached for mounting optical sights
And sometimes small can be a thing of beauty (just ask our own pocket-rocket Ben!); in extremely close-quarter situations where physical contact might occur or in a CQB game , a smaller AEG can be easier to handle and manipulate while still maintaining effectiveness… and the AK MOE is definitely small!
Much as we love our classic AKs, and we’ll be updating this long-term test category in ISSUE 166 on 15 AUGUST, the LCT AK MOE is most definitely unique, and we have to say we love it! Bill, our main “AK-aholic”, immediately said “I want one!” when he first saw it… and we think that there will be many others who share his enthusiasm
We’re now straight into testing, so be sure to tune in to ISSUE 166 on 15 SEPTEMBER to see what Stewbacca thinks of the LCT AK MOE… with his stature and ape-arms that’s gonna make for some REALLY interesting pictures!
