Our mates over at MILITARY 1ST have been in touch to let us know that they’ve got some cool new gear in store right now, from some bigger names and some smaller. You may recall that recently in ISSUE 163 we had a close look at some packs from HIGHLANDER FORCES and liked what we saw, and it appears that they have some cool gear in their clothing range too.
Now it may seem weird to talk about shell gear when the summer appears to have finally reached us, but the fact is that if you’re out at a weekender or a longer-duration MilSim you’re still going to need some protection when the temperature dips overnight… being cold “on stag” is no fun, and can lead to your mind wandering when you least want it to!

Crammed full of lightweight versatility, the Halo FZ is made from 210T ripstop with a microfleece lining; the Halo is light, warm, windproof, and easily added to a bergan load. Moisture protection comes from a water resistant outer coating and waterproof zips, meaning this is an outstanding piece of kit for protection from all the elements. A central zip, concealable peaked hood and a high collar make the Halo a really versatile layer, and of course exactly what we need at this time of year.
