We do like a bit of “old skool” action, and as Stewbacca has been fielding and raving about the latest MP5 GBB from VFC we thought it only fair to look at one of the latest AEG offerings of this venerable platform too, and the SECUTOR VIRTUS SWAT IV is pleasing us greatly, and ticking a lot of our “Koch Boxes”!
Among the most recent releases from SECUTOR, the VIRTUS “SWAT MP5s” are lightweight yet sturdy polymer AEGs with high quality internal parts and great-looking externals; we particularly like the fact that the VIRTUS IV comes pre-fitted with that classic-looking handguard where the taclite is integrated, and that the muzzle is threaded 14mm CCW to allow for easy attachment of accessories such as tracer units.
With a MOSFET with ETU and a mixture of 8mm bushings and bearings, the V2 gearbox also has a full-metal-tooth piston to ensure longevity. There’s also a CNC Cylinder, Cylinder Head and Nozzle. The inner barrel as standard is a 6.03mm with Maple Leaf rubber pre-fitted to ensure excellent range and accuracy, as we’ve already been finding out on the range!
Overall the feature set is solid;
- Polymer Construction
- 03mm Inner Barrel
- Maple Leaf Bucking
- 8mm Bearings and Bushings
- Full Metal Tooth Piston
- MOSFET with ETU
- Metal Cylinder
- Metal Cylinder Head
- Metal Nozzle
- Adjustable Stock
- Safe / Semi / Auto Fire Modes
You also get a 100BB middy supplied as standard, but we’ve already found that the majority of the MP5 mags in the AAHQ “armoury” work just fine with it too, and although we’ve removed it for testing we’re also impressed that the optics “claw mount” is included in the package.
Overall the SECUTOR VIRTUS IV is proving to be a classic “MP AEG” so far, and of course we’ll be dropping our full evaluation once testing is complete!
