Way back at the very start of this year we spoke about the new SGR 556 that would be released by G&G, a model that promised to be a remarkable AEG boasting G&Gs absolute newest tech including their much-awaited G3 TECHNOLOGY which meant their very first SPLIT GEARBOX DESIGN!
Also featuring G&Gs new optical selector switch module, a feature allowing an adjustable trigger to travel to one of THREE levels, it also promised to add a pre-cocking mode that could be programmed by the trigger or wireless programming remote control.
With a true quick-spring-change and an easy quick-change MOSFET module it offered a system where new modules could be dropped in for easy maintenance or replacement. The innovative hop-up adjustment we were told would be at the sharp end like some of their GBBs, and a built-in empty chamber/power cut-off would offer even more in-game fun!
With a CNC-machined M-LOK rail and receiver with front and rear flip-up sights, along with G&Gs latest GOS-V8 buttstock to provide ample battery space for big-capacity batteries, the SGR 556 promised to be quite the rifle, with the potential to elevate G&G AEGs to the next level…
And yes, it does, and it provides ALL of those things as we’ve had one in test for quite a while now and we’ll be continuing to put the SGR 556 through its paces before we drop our review in ISSUE 154 on 15 September!
