We do love a week where new AEG and GBB models just keep on landing, and new in over at Taiwangun is the latest from Double Eagle, the M917G UTR45!
We’re currently looking at SMGs and MPs in red Cell for our report on 15 Feb, and sadly one of these won’t be in time for that, but hopefully we’ll catch it up in a review at a later date! What we can tell you is that the main elements, such as the upper lower receivers, the stock and the handguard, are made of reinforced nylon so the new AEG weighs only 2500g! It features a modular handguard with compatible accessories included (rail covers, hand stop and Picatinny accessory rails), and has an ambidextrous fire selector, charging handle, bolt and mag release which makes it great for both right and left-handed users. There’s also a six-position side-folding stock with adjustable cheek rest that also provides space for a battery (100mm max length of battery).
The AEG has an air cushion type inner barrel which stabilises BBs and increases their rotation in the barrel, thus improving the range and accuracy . The mech is V2 with a quick spring change system mounted on 8mm steel ball bearings with a rotary hop-up. In addition, as a standard, these AEGs are equipped with a Falcon Electronic Control System (that we’ve seen in other recent DE models and like!) with programmable fire mode (Double Shot on SEMI mode or 1-5 Round Burst on AUTO mode), trigger sensitivity adjustment (3 modes) and motor and battery protection.
This is another departure for Double Eagle and we’re liking the direction that they’re heading!
